The Roscrea sports ability club would like to thank every-one who walked or sponsored the walkers in the flora mini marathon in Dublin on the June bank holiday Monday. Our club will finish now on the Saturdays till the schools reopen, we still hold various sporting events on Thursday evenings.
Members of “Roscrea Sports Ability Club” proudly display their medals and certificates of accomplishment after a great end of year Sports Day in Roscrea recently.
At the moment the younger children are learning to swim out in the Roscrea pool, and the children that already know how to swim are been taught more advance moves. When that finishes we start horse riding lessons. We also have done some orienteering out in golden grove woods, which was enjoyed by all.
The children all enjoyed taekwondo lessons and were sad to see it coming to an end. Congratulations to all the boys and girls who were presented with their medals and certificates of accomplishment at our end of the year sports day on Saturday in the Roscrea 2000 complex. The boys and girls all enjoyed the egg and spoon races, three legged races, javelin and wellie throwing just to mention a few. It was a lovely day and we would like to thank Sean Mulroney of Gala who sponsored our tee shirts.
We would like to wish Sonia Greene and Michelle Maher a fond farewell on their resignation and thank them for all they done for the club in the last year. Also we like to welcome Johnny and Marie as the new treasurer and secretary.
