Roscrea SPCA
This page includes a photograph of the 6th Class of Dromakeenan N.S. presenting a cheque to Roscrea SPCA on Friday 4th October for €287. We are very grateful to them for all their dedication and hard work. Dromakeenan N.S. have been great supporters of our Society over the past number of years and these donations have been a huge help in assisting us with our ventures. Since our last Newsletter, we have been very busy. The Society had a stand at the National Country Fair held in Birr on the June Bank Holiday weekend this year. We sold pens, notepads, fridge magnets etc. All monies raised go towards the expense of running our Subsidised Neutering Scheme. In the past twelve months over €7,000 was paid out by Roscrea SPCA to cover this very worthwhile venture. We also paid out in excess of €3,000 in maintaining our Dog and Cat Shelters so as you can appreciate the Society needs to be raising funds all the time to cover these expenses. The proceeds from the gate at Angela Jupe's Special Open Garden Day held on Sunday 16th June was also given to our Society. We take this opportunity to thank Angela for her much appreciated support shown to Roscrea SPCA. We ran a raffle at both of these events and the prizes were sponsored locally, details of the sponsors and winners are inside. As always, we have a number of pets in need of GOOD homes.
