It is to be noted that the 2 leading contenders Joe Rowland & Flan Lyons featured among the prize winners. Joe leads with a score of 399, followed closely by Flan with 405. So it is all to play for, – final G.O.Y. on Sunday 29th August.
Next Sunday 15th – Men have an 18 Holes Stableford competition. Timesheet in foyer.
On Friday 13th we have the Open Fourball sponsored by Albany Home Décor (Bill Fennessy) – open the Gents, Ladies or Mixed. Visitors €30 per pair. Timesheet (0505) 21130.
Society News – O’Rourke’s Ramblers had their Captain’s (Michael Gleeson) Prize on last Saturday. Winner was Noel McMahon (10) with a great score of 41 points.
The Black and Amber Golf Society had their Captain’s (John Greed) Prize in Nenagh also on Saturday and the winner was Jonathan Dunne, Ballinasloe Golf Club, with 36 points.
The Stand had their outing in Dundrum – winner was Martin Donnellan (13) with 40 points

Ladies wishing to play in the Lady Captain’s Prize on Sunday 22nd August are asked to place their name on the sheet in the locker room. A draw for playing partners will take place on Tuesday 17th August after the presentation.
A 12 holes re-entry Stableford competition (medal 6) is ongoing up to 31st August.

The Winter League Final sponsored by Roscrea Credit Union was played on Sunday last. The finalists were Team P, “Blasts from the Past”, captained by Donie Kealy and Team H, “Daisy’s Lads”, captained by Damian Shanahan. Following a very close contest Team P emerged winners by 3½ to 2½. There was some excellent golf played with most matches going all the way to the 18th. Thanks to our sponsors Roscrea Credit Union, who were represented at the presentation by David Dooley.
